Created in 1996, Arthrex UK now has more than 150 employees and two working sites: the Medical Education Centre at Innovation Point, Solihull, and the Logistics Centre at Bessemer Park, Sheffield.
The Medical Education Centre, Innovation Point, consists of a large, 3 storey workspace that accommodates sales management and the medical education team and provides a 10 workstation cadaveric training Lab, several meeting rooms and state of the art audiovisual facilities. The recent installation of Arthrex in Solihull enables us to host UK surgeons and health care practitioners for multiple and varied surgical training opportunities.
Arthrex organises day courses for surgeons and other health care practitioners located at Arthrex UK’s headquarters in Solihull. The site’s central position within England makes it easily accessible from the main cities of the UK. With large meeting rooms, 10 arthroscopic workstations and a Dry Lab training room, the facility offers opportunities for discussion and sharing as well as hands on practical experience.
The cadaveric stations are equipped with latest generation 4K arthroscopy columns and all the ancillaries and instruments necessary to perform surgical techniques in the best conditions, whether arthroscopically or with minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Arthrex provides surgical training opportunities, on site at hospitals for local convenience, through use of its Mobile Surgical Skills Training Lab, the MobileLab. The UK MobileLab proved particularly important during the early stages of Covid-19 as it enabled small groups of surgeons throughout the UK to continue with hands on training in a safe environment whilst other training facilities were not open.
The first of its kind in Europe, the fleet of European MobileLabs annually welcome and train more than 3,200 surgeons and surgical teams from more than 60 countries. Each Lab has 3 workstations equipped to perform all arthroscopy or arthroplasty procedures of the shoulder, knee, foot and hand.
The Sheffield Logistics Centre has more than 3,200 m² of storage, shipping and preparation space. It also has 900 m² of offices for the Logistics and Customer Service teams.
With the recent development of these new sites in both Solihull and Sheffield, Arthrex UK intends to further accelerate its growth in the years to come, maintain excellent staff and develop its medical training offerings to health care practitioners.
